Frequently Asked Questions

  • You’ll have a designated driver while you get to relax and enjoy the scenery of the rolling hills of Tennessee. You won’t get lost, you’ll get to mingle and make friends with fellow tour companions, and carpooling is environmentally friendly.

  • Negative. That is illegal, but a rolling liquor store isn’t a half bad idea. You’ll be able to purchase your favorites at the distilleries.

  • We can have up to as many friends as you have or as few as a dozen passengers. If you feel like spending some cash, we’ll even take two folks. Just let us know, and we’ll see what we can do.

  • That’s up to you. If the guides do a good job then sure. If not, then no.

  • Most last 6-7 hours. It’s kinda like a workday…only you’re not working. We can do shorter, we can do longer.

  • Absolutely! Office field trips. Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties, Birthdays. Check out our Private Whiskey Adventures for more information and booking.

  • Depends on the tour. Custom pricing is also available for private tours.

  • Sorry. This is an adults-only excursion.

  • Yes, we sure do. PURCHASE HERE.

  • Miss Mary Bobo’s is a popular lunch location at the Jack Daniel Distillery. For our guests who book the Jack n’ Back tour and wish to eat lunch at Miss Mary Bobo’s, make sure to book a dining reservation on the Jack Daniel’s website for the 11:00am time slot, and let your bus driver know that morning.

Be aware that this will leave little time to explore downtown Lynchburg.

  • At Tennessee Whiskey Tours, the safety and comfort of our guests and staff always come first. We ask all passengers to behave respectfully and drink responsibly throughout the tour. Disruptive, aggressive, or unsafe behavior—including excessive intoxication—won’t be allowed.

Our drivers and guides have full authority to address any behavior that may impact safety or the experience of others. They may give a warning, pause the tour, move a guest to another seat, or remove a passenger at a safe location if the behavior continues. In serious situations, law enforcement may be contacted.

We also maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, threats, or violence of any kind. Guests who are removed from a tour because of misconduct are not eligible for a refund.

If anyone feels uncomfortable or notices unsafe behavior, we encourage them to let the driver or guide know right away.

  • Yes, it is permissible on the bus, but never outside of the vehicle. In Tennessee, you must be 21 to legally imbibe (on the bus and off). But don’t over-serve yourself, or you might be hitchhiking back to Nashville.

  • Hydration is important, but we no longer provide single use plastic water bottles. It’s not a good look for the environment. Plus, whiskey is essentially 40-50% water. Drink whiskey.

  • Usually, we have prearranged eating spots like a good BBQ joint or perhaps some hot chicken. In some cases, you will be free to explore a stopping point and fend for yourself or you can pack a lunch and we’ll gladly store it for you on the bus. Bottom line: everyone gets to eat.

  • If you’re interested, you should book quickly. Tours do fill up far in advance.

  • “The wheels on the bus go ’round and ’round”…nope. It’s a nice, comfy, air-conditioned, non-smelly bus. You will approve.

  • Yes, because it’s fun and educational! If you hate fun and learning new things, then maybe not. We won’t try to convert you to a whiskey aficionado. Ok, yes we will, but we won’t be pushy. Some of these distilleries even have gin, vodkas, and other interesting spirits.
