The Itinerary
We offer our Jack Daniel’s bus tour from Nashville at two times, 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Select your tour time in the calendar above.
DEPARTURE: 9:00 AM (or 12:00 PM)
Downtown Nashville near the Omni hotel. The address is 250 Rep. John Lewis Way South. Meet near Bob’s Steakhouse. No waiting in the rain, cold, heat, etc. We promise.
FIRST STOP: JACK DANIEL’S
We’ll pull into Jack’s around 11:00 AM (or 1:30 PM for the tour that starts at noon) and get right down to it. Let the tour and tastings begin! We’ve already got you signed up for a Jack Daniel Distillery Tour (formerly known as the Angel’s Share Distillery Tour) and whiskey tastings. This is the best option!
LUNCH N’ LEISURE (MORNING TOUR ONLY)
After a couple hours at the distillery, you’re “on your own” to peruse downtown Lynchburg and find the perfect lunch spot. Don’t worry–we’ve got some great suggestions.
DISCLAIMER: The 12:00 PM tours WILL NOT have time to explore or eat lunch in Lynchburg. We highly recommend eating lunch prior to pick up.
HOME AGAIN: 4:30 PM-ISH (or 6:30 PM-ISH)
We’ll arrive at our spot of departure and turn you loose for some honky tonkin’. The noon tour will return at approximately 6:30 PM.

You must have a valid ID present and be 21 years of age or older. You will not be permitted to do a tasting tour without identification. Foreign identification (e.g., driver’s license, passport) are accepted as long as they are not expired.

The Jack Daniel Distillery is located in Lynchburg, TN, about 80 miles from Nashville. It takes about 90 minutes to get to Jack Daniel’s from downtown Nashville. If you don’t plan to drive yourself, it is highly recommended to take a bus tour like those offered by Tennessee Whiskey Tours.

The Jack Daniel Distillery is located in Lynchburg, TN. When the distillery first opened, it was contained in Lincoln County, TN. However, in 1871 the county lines were redrawn, and the distillery is now located in Moore County.

Yes! Although Moore County is technically a “dry” county, guests are allowed to sample and purchase liquor at the Jack Daniel Distillery. Connected to the Jack Daniel’s Visitor Center, guests can make purchases at the White Rabbit Bottle Shop, where they regularly stock Old No. 7, Gentleman Jack, Jack Daniel’s Bottle in Bond, and the Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel - Barrel Proof offerings.

While the Jack Daniel Distillery offers a few tour options, we find the tour that works best for our groups is the “Jack Daniel Distillery Tour.” This tour lasts about an hour and forty-five minutes and includes a Jack Daniel’s whiskey tasting of 6 of their most popular products.

Jack Daniel’s is a Tennessee whiskey. Tennessee whiskey must follow the same requirements for bourbon, meaning it must be a distilled spirit that uses at least 51% corn in the mash bill, it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels, and it must be bottled at a proof point of at least 80. What separates Tennessee whiskey from bourbon is that, prior to barreling, Tennessee whiskey is filtered through sugar maple charcoal. This filtration is known as the “Lincoln County Process,” named after the county where that originally contained the Jack Daniel Distillery.
